The Month of Health

The verse in Surah Al-Baqara (2) cited above, is the one by which Ramadan fasting was prescribed. It also waived fasting for the sick, if they can't, but at the end it said: "if you fast is better for you . ." 
Besides being one of the 5 pillars of Islam, fasting is associated with a lot of benefits, especially health-wise. Much work has been done to support this.
